Senate Refuses to Raise Minimum Wage – Oct. 2005

The 47-51 roll call by which the Senate on Wednesday defeated a proposal to raise the minimum wage from the current $5.15 per hour to $6.25.

On this vote, a "yes" vote was a vote to raise the wage and a "no" vote was a vote to defeat the proposal.

Voting "yes" were 42 Democrats, four Republicans and one independent.

Voting "no" were 51 Republicans and no Democrats.
